year - 1.5/5
Kinda rushed even tho it was almost 2.5 hours. Very different from the book. I watched the movie twice bc I felt that I was comparing the movie too much to the book the first time around. Agsin, felt as if it was rushed and the plot of the movie kinda just smashed puzzle pieces into its place, so it wasn't smooth sailing in my books. Would not bother watching again.
Spoilers
The love story seemed ... Forced? Not sure if that's the right word, but I hate to say rushed again, but the viewer is just supposed to be on board with Wade loving Artimus... Suuuuuure.

Really enjoyed it. As all Pixar movies, I cried in this one too.
Heartfelt story and Pixar always chooses the best route.

The Whole Truth
2016 - 1/5
It was interesting for sure, and I liked how it ended, but really, you don't need to watch he whole movie; just the beginning, some parts in the middle, and the end.
I say this because I told my mom the premise of the movie, she was awake for the first little bit, then she passed out for the middle, and then she woke up just in time to see the end where everything unfolded and she pretty much had the same reaction I did.
KR did a good job, the kid did a good job and I had NO idea that was Renee Z! She looks SO different.

Not a "Sally movie". Don't mistake my low rating that the movie wasn't good... It just wasn't one I cared for. The acting was fine, the script was fine, the story line was fine, the cinematography was fine, but I just don't get the hype.

First off, 0/10 - would NOT play hide and seek with this chick!
When you go and watch a movie like this one, you have to be willing to put aside some aspects of reality. So going into this movie, I had zero expectations, so when I came outta this movie, I found that I did enjoy it; it was entertaining! It also helped that the friend that I had gone with and I had a funny commentary during the movie as well. Aside from my friend and I, there were 3 other people in the theatre. Overall, the acting wasn't as bad as I thought it was (and could have been), and the plot wasn't horrible either, but it wasn't 100% original either. Overall, I'm not going to be watching this again, but I don't think I completely wasted my time watching it once.

Fast & Furious - Hobbs & Shaw
2019 - 3/5
honestly, i'm writing this review in mid-november of 2019, so i don't really remember much about this movie, nor do i care to watch it again.
for a movie that doesn't have any of the original characters (and i know it's not supposed to because it's a spin-off), i don't really care for it. i really only watched it because it's apart of the franchise, but with p. walker passing, i don't really care to watch any more of these.
i do remember thinking i like the banter back and forth between hobbs and shaw, but beyond that, nothing memorable.

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood
2019 - 2.5/5
typical Tarantino in the sense that there's SO much build up, and then there's excessive blood and fore. in this movies' case, the build up was there, but the blood and gore wasn't as over the top as usual, it was rather 14A blood and gore.
i can honestly say that i don't think this movie has any repeat value - there really would be no reason for me to ever watch this again.
the acting was really good by the parties that actually matter.
Tarantino's movies are usually long and for the most part, i never really feel how long they are, but in this case, i was looking at the time pretty much every hour. this movie really could have been cut down to 1hr40mins if he really wanted to. there was so much unnecessary filler and characters that made me thing "okay, what's the point of this?" on more than one occasion.

Lion King
2019 - 3.7/5
For the most part it's a re-hash of the animated version. I will never think it's as good, but it was done well.
The CGI was really good, the voice actors were all right too (I found that the voice actor for young Simba was pretty close to the 90s version; I absolutely thought that Seth Rogen was a great choice; people are gonna hate me for saying this, but I didn't think that Beyoncé was a good choice).
I will say that someone told me before I watched it that the one thing that bothered them was the lack of emotion portrayed, and it's understandable because you can't really animate that, but as I was watching it (the part where Musafa dies) didn't pull at my heart stirs nearly as much as the animated cartoon version from the 90s. So that part was a bit meh for me.
Overall, it wasn't bad and I liked how they kept it pretty close to the 90s version.

Toy Story 4
2019 - 3.9/5
a little sad there wasn't a short... :(
***SPOILER ALERT***
really enjoyed it.
i liked how it wasn't as tear-jerky as the third.
liked it more than the 2nd movie, but not as much as the 1st or 3rd.
i liked the plot:
simple plot, but they made it to be an eventful adventure.
it was nice to see that Bonnie liked Jesse more than Woody.
overall, i felt as if there was a "girl-power" undertone to the movie.
i liked the new characters:
it was nice that although Woody was being put aside having been replaced by Forky as Bonnies favourite toy, that he didn't resent it as much as he resented Buzz in the first... you could see the growth in character since the first movie, and it was nice that his immediate course of action was to keep Forky at whatever cost.
i liked how Bo-peep and Gaby Gaby didn't have beef (bc that was the direction i though it was going to go, kinda like the 3rd movie).
i also like the Bo-peep's story wasn't a sob story, but more along the lines that she found her way and she had a sense of empowerment, or ownership of her own life.
the plush toy horse that kept saying he wanted the dad to go to jail was funny.
the bunny and duck wanting to attack the store owner and the carnival booth attendant was funny.
i liked Duke Caboom, but being Canadian, i find that they portrayed him as kind of dumb (obviously not happy with that).

Aladdin
2019 - 3/5
i didn't go into this movie with no expectations, i went into this movie with the expectation's that i was absolutely going to hate it. that i would hate every actor playing their role.
i ended up liking it, believe it or not. it was NO where near as good as the animated one, but it was entertaining and the actors did their roles well.
the only thing i wasn't the biggest fan of was jasmine singing, but not a big hit in my books.
overall, i'm happy i came outta it not as annoyed going in!

Wreck it Ralph 2
2018 - 4/5
I'd be lying if i said I was going into this movie without any expectations. It's no surprise that I'm a HUGE Disney fan and I absolutely LOVED the first one, so for me to say that I have no expectations is a lie that you'd be able to smell!
Short review:
I loved this movie. I cried (obviously). I want to watch it again. I will be buying this.
Actual (point-form) review:
The portrayal of the Internet was so well done, and how people connect and get disconnected. The concept was captured very well.
They were able to fit in aspects of the plot very well.
You could really sense the bond between Vanellope and Ralph.
Loved how the Disney Princesses were included. I more so liked how they poked fun of themselves a bit too, and were self-aware as to their own pasts.
Spamly and Gord were really good side characters for comic relief and they weren't overly used or relied on.
Knows more was a fun character! Disney was able to portray the role of a search engine so creatively.
Yes was also another good addition.
I remember liking the music and songs in the fist one, and this one was no different.
I found the move was pretty relatable with regards to Ralph and Vanellope. Be it having insecurities or feeling as if your life is on repeat.

The Girl in the Spider's Web
2018 - 0/5
So here's my short review... It sucked.
I want to say that I'm going to draw parallels from the book, BUT, there isn't anything to draw. The movie and book are SO INCREDIBLY DIFFERENT that while I was watching the movie, I was constantly saying "did I read the same book?". The only part that I knew was taken from the book is when Lisbeth says "go to bed" to the kid. I shit you not, that was legit, the only similarity between the 2. At this point I'm honestly surprised they didn't change the name of the characters!
Another point that I'd like to mention before getting into the review is that the book did have a different author than the first 3, so even this book had a different vibe to it, but I did enjoy the book much more than the movie. So if you get a chance to read the book, I'd say invest your time in doing that and skip the movie!
Okay, lets get on with the actual review!
First off, I'd like to say that I HAAAAATED the fact that, although this movie is set in Sweden, with Swedish characters (and presumably actors, I don't care to actually check), they all spoken English, but with a stupid accent. Oh my god, I can't emphasis enough how much this annoyed me. How fucking lazy can people be? They don't want to read subtitles?
Secondly, the moment the new Lisbith Salander came on screen, I hated her. I want to sit here and say that "I don't know what it was about her I didn't like", but I know exactly why I hated her. It's because it wasn't the same actor (Naomi Rapace) from the first 3. That is my image of Lisbith Salander and that is what it always will be. The girl in this movie did not act very well. She sucked. I was willing to put aside my immediate hatred for her if she did well in the role, but she didn't.
Oh, and on the topic of actors, Blomkvist and Berger were also HORRIBLE! *insert throw up emoji*. I just couldn't get into the movie because ALL the actors were bad.
8) Police cars arriving at crime scenes choreographed to look like dancers entering the stage in Swan Lake.
-Well..... (beautifulblu83 29 October 2018)
The first US version was disappointing. The second movie is even worse. Please save yourself the trouble and don't go see it.
-Sony please just stop. (TheOnlyEvanlarsen 9 November 2018)
Not going to write a lengthy review. Just here to say that this is NOT Lisbeth Salander...This story is taken from the book NOT written by the original author, written after his death against his families wishes.

As I said above, the plot of the movie didn't really follow the exact plot of the book, and I think it's fair to compare the 2, considering the movie is based off the book. The story line that the movie took was terrible. They've strayed so far away from what the first 3 books were, it's just sad to see how Hollywood'ized this has become.
Not going to lie, but the more I think about this movie, the more I hate it. Overall I think your time was better spent reading my review than watching this movie. You're welcome.
Usually when I'm done writing my review, I go onto IMDB and read the reviews of people that also hated the movie to see if we hated it for the same reason. Here are some of my favourite parts of other peoples reviews:

Life of the Party
2018 - 2/5
I watched this on the plane. It's your typical Melissa McCarthy movie. I am a fan of her humour so I did like this movie. Some parts were stupid, but I did get some good laughs. This was a great waste of time being on a plane, but I find that it has no repeat value and I'd never care to watch this again. Not her best work, but it wasn't horrible to warrant never watching it if you like her.

Oceans 8
2018 - 0/5
You know when you're on a plane and you need to be entertained? Gone are the days in which you look for a movie that's actually going to be good. You really have some hope, but within the same breathe, you're stuck on a plane and probably don't have very many options - not just with regards to the movies you can watch, yes, those are limited, but in general, the things you can do. You're mostly going to be sitting on your ass the entire time, so movies are usually a good option.
With that being said, I highly urge you to avoid this movie at all costs. There is nothing about this movie that'll keep you the slightest bit entertained. It was a haphazard mess. The plot wasn't engaging, it was outright pathetic. I absolutely disliked this movie.
I do not recommend. Save yourself your time. Do not watch.

Christopher Robin
2018 - 4.5/5
I really enjoyed it. It had a cute storyline, and I found it to be so heartfelt! There were some aspects that I didn't care for, but they weren't major things. I would for sure watch this again... I'll probably just buy it when it comes out on DVD.

i actually enjoyed this more than i thought. i liked the storyline, and the one thing going in that i thought i would be tired of was johnny depp being johnny depp, but i actually still liked it. i don't see myself really ever watching this again, but i'm glad i did see it.
