A Disney movie about a girl who plays chess? It worked – trust me on this one. For a movie that didn’t seem to have too much advertising behind it, or well known actors/actresses, it was pretty entertaining.
The plot, script and acting were all executed so well. The movie was as long as it needed to be and there weren’t really any parts that were “fillers” (things added just for the sake of it). The comedy was on point and the emotional parts really did strike a cord. There wasn’t anything about the script that truly stood out, but there weren’t any cheesy moments. As for the acting, they all did really well.
It’s a nice movie about not just recognizing someone’s talent, but really giving them a chance to succeed.
