A Long Way Down

2014 - 1.5/5

A movie about 4 suicidal people that happen to meet on a rooftop, all wanting to jump off, but end up making a pact, sounded like it would be an interesting movie. Was it? Not so much in execution (no pun intended). There was a great premise to work with, but I don’t think it lived up to what it could have been.

The 4 main characters meeting one another was a bit rushed. The casting was great: Brosnan, Paul, Collette and Poots. Everyone played their parts well (but Poots did overdo it at times). I liked how the story progressed and each character got to narrate what was going on.

There really wasn’t a concept of time between the new year and valentines day.

There were some parts I like, and some parts I didn’t. This wasn’t a movie of epic proportions. It was never cheesy, which is a good thing because it could have easily taken that route; but at the same time, it wasn’t amazing because I wasn’t really moved by their stories.
